Official Birth Name
Bwalya Sophie Chibesakunda
Born 31 December 1987 • Lusaka, Zambia
Born with Rhythm in Lusaka
Bwalya Sophie Chibesakunda was born and raised in the vibrant capital of Lusaka, Zambia. Surrounded by a household with eclectic musical taste, she was first introduced to the pulse of hip hop by her uncles. Mesmerized by the cadence, wordplay, and expressive storytelling of the genre, she started rapping at just 11 years old and began writing her own original songs at age 12.
Her early years were spent sharpening her pen, mastering rhyme schemes, and developing the explosive vocal delivery that would later inspire her stage name: Bomb$hell Grenade (often written simply as Bombshell).
Retail Business Management Degree
Unlike many artists whose paths diverge from formal education, Bombshell recognized the indispensable value of business mastery. She relocated to Cape Town, South Africa, to attend the prestigious Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), successfully graduating with a degree in Retail Business Management.
This academic foundation would become her strategic weapon in negotiating entertainment contracts, launching corporate partnerships, and championing social enterprise initiatives across Africa.
